Eddie Bezuidenhout, Managing Director

Eddie’s career path:
  • 1992 – 1994 Pretoria Fire/Ambulance Service as an Ambulance Leader
  • 1994 – 1996 Gauteng Ambulance College as an Ambulance Emergency Coordinator
  • 1996 – 2001 Medical Rescue International as an Advanced Paramedic Trainer
  • 2001 – 2002 International SOS as an Advanced Paramedic Trainer
  • 2002 – 2004 Netcare 911 Namibia as an Advanced Paramedic Trainer and Operations Manager.

Further to Eddie’s extensive Trauma and Paramedical qualifications and experience, he obtained his Private and Commercial Pilots Licenses and flew for Westair Wings Charters as a commercial pilot during the period 2009 to 2010.

Eddie Bezuidenhout has a passion for serving the community, saving lives and has solid leadership skills in managing the only Namibian Medical Air Evacuation Company.

Tobie Van Der Westhuizen, Financial Manager

Tobie has been employed at E-Med Rescue 24 since 2008, he has a solid educational financial background and currently steers the financial department.

Kiki Schaefer, Flight Dispatch Manager

Kiki has been in the employment of Emed Rescue 24 since 2006 and has a wealth of skill and experience in the Aviation Industry; she is solely responsible for the safe and efficient operations of Air Ambulances and Flying Crew – Pilots and Paramedics.

Winnie started his career path at E-Med Rescue in 2004 as part of the paramedical crew and thereafter he was appointed as the Operational Manager, with his vast experience in the industry’s operations, he heads this department.

Preetha Padayachee, Call Centre and Marketing Manager

Preetha commenced her employment with E-Med Rescue 24 in 2013; currently she managers the 24 hour call center and assists the Managing Director with his marketing portfolio.

Jason Snyders, Assistant Operations and Logistic Manager

Jason has started of his career at E-Med Rescue 24 in 2008 as part of the paramedical team and grew into his current role, whereby he managers all operational logistics, training and assistant to the Operations Manager.

Piet Swart, Mine Operations Manager

Piet joined E-Med Rescue 24 in 2013; he comes from G4S where he served as the Operations Manager and currently manages the Mining Contracts Portfolio and is the Health and Safety Manager.

With the aim of providing quality & efficient paramedical services, E-Med’s operation are spearheaded by a team of highly qualified paramedics.

E-Med currently employs highly qualified paramedical staff with qualifications ranging from Basic Life Support, Intermediate Life Support to Advance Life support paramedics. A medical specialist (Director) is also available to assist the paramedical team with patient prognosis and provide medical support in the event of a critical ill patient.

Call Centre

The most vital part of any emergency evacuation provider is the ability to communicate with people in life and death situations.

E-Med has left no stone unturned. The call centre, based in Windhoek, operates 24 hours a day seven days a week, and staffed by multi lingual and Basic Life Support clinicians. The HIT system (Healthcare Information Technology) as well as the CRM program (Customer Relation Management) provides the call centre with specialised technology, enabling the call centre operator to gain immediate excess to membership information of the medical aid funds and insurance policyholders who are contracted E-Med.

In an emergency, when you might not be able to speak for yourself, a medical bracelet or necklace speaks for you, this is also obtainable from E-Med. All information is linked to our CRM program which provides our call centre staff with all your vital information.

Operators also gauge whether a call would require road or air evacuation, before dispatching the request to the nearest response centre for appropriate action.
